In the literature, some people use the well known FG-NET Database, and some use their own custom databases. We chose to construct our own.

Here are our reasons to construct a database from movie stars:

• Most stars have a career starting from teenage years to senior years, this is a wonderful opportunity to get the whole lifespan of a person
• We have near exact information on which year the photograph was shot
• All the information is freely available over internet

Methodology

• Main information base is imdb.com
• Photographs are collected via
  • imdb.com photos
  • google images
  • movie captures (my collection and trailers)
• I do not include any photo which I'm not sure about the exact shooting year
• Generally I prefer the movies I watched myself. This prevents collecting false images
• The face area is cropped - generally all the head is included with background
